Following a thorough makeover of the historic United Artists Theater, the Ace Hotel debuted in January 2014, and recent visitors have praised its trendy yet vintage appearance. The hotel pays homage to its past with a refurbished 1,600-seat movie theater, but recent visitors also praised its contemporary facilities, such as the juice bar, rooftop pool, and L.A. Chapter restaurant. The urban, industrial-styled loft-style rooms are all equipped with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Lower-level visitors warn that the rooms are modest and late-night noise from the streets can leak in; they advise choosing an upgraded room or higher floor for more space and a private terrace. The majority of guests praised the staff's politeness and noted how well-versed in the area they are.
