Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is an English singer-songwriter. She is one of the best-selling musicians in the world, with over 120 million records sold. Adele signed with XL Recordings after she graduated from the BRIT School of Art in 2006. Her debut album "19" was released in 2008 and her singles "Chasing Pavements" and "Make You Feel My Love" reached the top five in the UK. The album is certified 8x Platinum in the UK and 3x Platinum in the US. Adele won a Brit Award for Rising Star and a Grammy for Best New Artist.
Adele released their second studio album 21 in 2011. It sold over 31 million copies, making it the world's best-selling album of the 21st century. He has been certified platinum in the UK (the highest percentage of any soloist in history) and diamond 17 times in the US. According to Billboard, 21 was the most successful album in US chart history, peaking at number one for 24 weeks (longest time as an artist) on the Billboard 200. She was the first Billboard Hot 100 artist to hold three top singles simultaneously as lead artist, such as "Rolling in the Deep", "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain". It even topped the charts. The album has won six Grammy Awards, including a Brit Award for Album of the Year and UK Album of the Year. With her 21 success, Adele has been mentioned several times in the Guinness Book of Records.
In 2012, Adele released the single "Skyfall", the soundtrack to the James Bond film of the same name, which won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Original Song. Her third studio album, 25, was released in 2015 and became the best-selling album of the year, breaking first-week sales records in the UK and US. 25 was her second album to become a Diamond in the United States and won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, and four Brit Awards, including British Album of the Year. The lead single, "Hello", became the first song in the US to sell over one million digital copies within a week of its release. Her fourth studio album 30, which contains the charttopping single "Easy on Me", was released to international success in 2021.
