Ed Sheeran

Edward Christopher Sheeran is an English singer-songwriter. He was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, grew up in Framlingham, West Perk, and began composing at the age of 11. In early 2011, Sheeran performed the extended play No. 5 Collaboration project. In the same year, he signed with Asylum Records. Sheeran's debut album+ (pronounced plus) was released in September 2011 and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. It included his first hit single "A Team". In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. Sheeran's second studio album × (pronounced "multiply") has peaked at number one on the world charts since its release in June 2014. In 2015, it was voted the second best-selling album in the world. He received an award and an Ivor Novello Award for Composer of the Year from the British Academy of Composers, Composers and Writers. The single from the album 'Thinking Out Loud' won the 2016 Grammys for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Sheeran's third album ÷ (pronounced "section") was released in March 2017 and became the best-selling album of 2017 worldwide. The first two singles from the albums "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill" broke down. It debuted in the top two positions on the charts, setting records in several countries. He also became the first artist to debut two songs in the top 10 in the US within a week. By March 2017, Sheeran had collected the top 10 singles of ÷ on the UK Singles Chart, breaking the record for most Top 10 UK Singles on a Single Album. His fourth single ÷, "Perfect" reached number one in the United States, Australia and United Kingdom, and became number one on Christmas Day 2017. The world's best-selling artist of 2017, he was named Best Recording Artist of the Year. His fourth studio album, No.6 Collaborations Project, released in 2019, reached number one in most major markets and was released in the UK with three titles "I Don't Care", "Beautiful People" and "Take Me Back to London". Dog's number one single was born. " ... ... his fifth studio album = (pronounced "equal") topped the charts in most major markets in 2021.

Sheeran has sold over 150 million records worldwide. This made him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. He owns 84.5 million RIAA-certified devices in the US, and his two albums are among the best-selling albums in UK chart history. In December 2019, the Official Charts Company named him Artist of the Year with the greatest cumulative success on the UK Albums and Singles Chart of the 2010s. Globally, Spotify named him the second most popular artist of the decade. Since March 2017, his tour was the highest grossing ever in August 2019. A graduate of London's National Youth Theater, Sheeran's acting roles include an appearance in the 2019 film Yesterday.
