Allen Edmonds
Allen Edmonds is a Port Washington, Wisconsin-based upmarket men's shoe manufacturer. This is one of the best men's dress shoes brands. Elbert W. Allen created the Allen-Spiegal Shoe Company in Belgium, Wisconsin, in 1922. The firm is one of the few that still manufactures in the United States and has been the choice for every US president on inauguration day since Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush. With more than 98 percent of shoes sold in the United States being manufactured elsewhere, Allen Edmonds is among a small group of companies that manufacture shoes in the United States.
Allen Edmonds provides shoe recrafting services, which include changing soles and heels, constructing a new cork base and strip, and reapplying finish. Every year, the company recrafts 26,000 pairs of shoes, and since the program's beginning, it has recrafted one million pairs. According to the manufacturer, a pair of its shoes can be recrafted four times before being retired.
As a company that got its start by shaking up the footwear market, it is dedicated to responding to today's needs while predicting tomorrow's wants. That means expanding into a new line of adaptable, casual styles and office-approved trainers, in addition to the distinctive iconography that established the brand.
