Tricker’s
Tricker's, one of several Royal Warrant holders on this list and also from Northampton, was founded in 1829, making it one of the oldest of the historic British shoemakers. The fact that it is still at the top of its game nearly 200 years later says everything about the quality of its footwear. It is likely best known for its great boots these days, but that does not diminish its fine assortment of Derbies, brogues, and monks, all of which are handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail.
Tricker's has many stores in the United Kingdom and one in Tokyo as of 2019. According to a BBC article, the company's overseas sales accounted for 80% of its total revenue, and it was exploring building additional stores in South Korea and the United States. The founding family is still in charge, and the company's commitment to producing high-quality shoes and boots is unwavering. Tricker's footwear is manufactured exclusively in Northampton, and while production processes have evolved over time, the craftspeople continue to use traditional techniques.
