Andy Lau
Any millennial would find themselves instantly nostalgic when the name "Andy Lau" is mentioned. It is not an exaggeration to claim that this incredible man is among the pillars of the Chinese entertainment industry.
Andy Lau spent his childhood years in Hong Kong, during the period when that part of the world was still under British rule. Due to a string of unexplained occurrences, his family was compelled to resettle in the slums of Hong Kong when he was only six years old, despite the fact that he came from a wealthy family.
Around the same time that he began to achieve some measure of success as an actor early on in his career, Lau shifted his focus to a career in the music industry. In spite of the fact that his first album was not a financially successful venture, Andy Lau continued to write music and improve his skills, until he gradually developed into one of the most famous Cantopop performers - who has had the most significant impact on the development of the genre throughout the course of history.
By 2000, Lau had already won over 200 awards, solidifying his position as a living legend in the fields of Chinese cinema and music.
