Arizona Virtual Academy

Arizona Virtual Academy (AZVA) is an online public school made for students in grades K -12. Since AZVA is a public charter school program, there is no tuition fee. They offer certified teachers from Arizona and provide instructional materials. Families only need to cover basic household supplies like printer ink and paper.

In grades K–8, students will take English, math, science, history, music, and art classes. There's no official gym class in these grades, but AZVA suggests 30 minutes of physical activity each day. If students need extra help, courses are available through Insight School of Arizona.

AZVA
gives students the books and materials they need. High school students get fewer books than elementary and middle school students. Elementary school is flexible, and they can work at their own pace. In middle and high school, they'll have lessons at specific times, but they can also work independently and take tests and quizzes when ready.

Students will spend about 15 to 30 percent of their time on the computer in grades K–5, 50 to 70 percent in grades 6–8, and 80 percent or more in grades 9–12. During the year, they can join school outings, go on field trips to cool places, have picnics, and attend other fun events. They can also meet up with other students and parents in their area. There are also online clubs where they can connect with students who like the same things as them.
