Aruba Hi-Winds
The month of July has here, and locals and international windsurfers and kiteboarders are gearing up for the annual Aruba Hi-Winds, the Caribbean's largest water sport event of its sort. It has been a popular amateur event for the past 20 years, attracting participants from the Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean. Kiteboarding, like the mountain bike sport, has become a big element of the event. Aruba Hi-Winds has evolved and is here to stay, so anticipate the Beach of Fisherman's Huts to be packed with colorful sails and eager athletes again in the first week of July.
The event is significant not just for Aruba's tourism industry, but also for the island's residents. When the Aruba Hi-Winds event initially began, it consisted solely of windsurfing competitions. The festival's program now includes kiteboarding competitions, race events such as slalom and long-distance courses, and mountain bike races. Hi-Winds is open to anyone who enjoys water activities, whether professional or amateur. Those who would rather stay on the beach and watch windsurfers ride the waves will find plenty to do. Fisherman Huts Beach in Noord will be alive with beach-chic fashion exhibitions, live performances, and beach parties from July 4 to July 8.
