Awhum waterfall
The Awhum Waterfall is in Amaugwe village, Awhum town, Udi Local Government Area, Enugu State, Nigeria. The Awhum Waterfall is made out of a large outcrop of granite rock, with water cascading from the top to form a stream. During the seasons, some parts of the waterfall are usually warm. The Awhum waterfall, which is 30 meters high, is located near the Awhum Monastery.
The villagers believe that if used, the water has medicinal properties and can drive away evil spirits. As a result, the Awhum Monastery was established beside the waterfall. As a result, the waterfall cave has become a pilgrimage and prayer center for Christians; the location is sacred, and access to it is controlled by the monastery.
