Azul Mariscos
Azul is a chic mariscos (seafood) restaurant with a wide selection of dishes with a Latin influence that is situated along the Chicago river in the developing Goose Island neighborhood. The idea mixes the spirit of an actual mariscos restaurant with contemporary hospitality techniques and all the elements of a chic, dynamic place.
Azul's chef-driven menu is packed with elegant renditions of traditional mariscos cuisine, which celebrates the robust flavors and fresh ingredients of Latin culinary traditions. Azul, a restaurant founded by Executive Chef Michael Hernandez, serves a selection of grilled, baked, fried, raw, and seafood drinks as well as beautifully presented family-style platters and ceviches.
Azul Mariscos, one of the Rooftop Restaurants in Chicago, is the most recent tenant of a riverbank building next to Goose Island, which has previously housed nightclubs and a goofy beach-themed restaurant. It offers seafood with a Latin flair. On the menu, you'll discover oysters, ceviche, shrimp pozole, and other appetizing small dishes that progress to shared servings of prawns, king crab legs, salmon, and mahi mahi. There's even a hot seafood platter for $400 that offers a taste of everything. You can have some shrimp tacos and sip a mojito inside the mural-covered dining room or on the roomy rooftop even if you're not a high roller.
