Bar Cock

Since 1921, Bar Cock has been an undisputed institution in Madrid. Emilio Saracho and Perico Chicote are said to have traveled to London to bring the stylings and furnishings of a classic English club to Madrid. Their major goal, though, was to serve the best cocktails in town. Since its inception, Bar Cock has been a favorite hangout for intellectuals, politicians, and movie stars. Its magnificent wood doors have welcomed Ernest Hemingway, John Wayne, Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra, Harrison Ford, and George Clooney.

When you see the exquisite drinks that are flawlessly created, it's easy to see why Bar Cock has survived for over a century. Any classic cocktail will be precisely prepared just as it is supposed to be. If you're lucky, your cocktail will be made by Javier, the head bartender, who has a perfect technique.
