BarMelia
A "hole in the wall" wine and tapas bar on 79th street is where the Barmeli concept first appeared in 2013. Meli decided it was time to open a different kind of wine bar in Miami after growing weary of the typical selections at most neighborhood bars. Barmeli soon gained popularity among locals for its uncommon grape varieties and weekly wine tastings. Meli looked for small, family-run wineries that made wine with passion, integrity, and little intervention because she wanted to share her love of Mediterranean wine with others.
By 2016, a relocation to a bigger space was unavoidable due to its astronomical popularity. The transition, now known as barmeli69 on 69th Biscayne, was a success. In order to provide you with a distinctive dining experience, owner Liza Meli, who has a strong Greek (opa) influence, and chief chef Christophe Bibard, who has a strong French (ooh la la) flare, have combined their abilities. Barmeli69 continues to be a beloved neighborhood establishment.
