Bavarian International School (BIS)
The Bavarian Cosmopolitan School (BIS) is a community of over 1,150 students and 170 educators that collaborate to bring out the best in young people from more than 60 countries in a loving and international setting. BIS students are encouraged to develop excellent language and communication skills, and intercultural attitude, and a thorough awareness of digital technologies and modern cooperation in order to become global citizens.
BIS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School with campuses in Munich-Schwabing and Haimhausen, where exceptional, globally-focused instructors care for children aged three to eighteen. BIS ranks among the greatest international schools in Germany and Europe as a private, non-profit all-day school (IB Diploma score average at BIS in 2021: 37 points, world average score is 33). At both campuses, English is the primary medium of instruction, with 21 additional languages available. As part of our standard technology suite, high-tech learning settings include Apple iPods and MacBooks.
BIS's caring culture is distinguished by additional advice for students at every turn, including language and learning support, mentors, school counselors, and university and career counselors. Students are encouraged to grow outside of the classroom by participating in one of 80 after-school activities. Drama, music, engineering, multimedia, and athletics are among them, as are certain distinctive programs such as Model United Nations, the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, and the Eco School initiative.
