Leipzig International School, which is founded in 1992 for a small number of expatriate children, currently enrolls over 900 kids in a learning community with strong local roots, drawing both German and international families.
Students learn to become global citizens with us from the age of one until graduation, while their parents become part of a unified and loving community. Teachers that are internationally oriented and come from a variety of backgrounds motivate and inspire students from their initial steps until their university applications. Rigid curriculum push students to reach their full potential. The International Primary Curriculum supports current and relevant learning in Primary school. They follow Cambridge courses to IGCSE at the age of sixteen in Secondary, for the eldest students, Grades 11 and 12, two International Baccalaureate alternatives cater to the whole range of skills, interests, and goals.
They are also concerned with each child's well-being and personal growth. Initiatives such as the school garden, outdoor classroom, playground buddy system, community projects, and an appealing enrichment program (extra-curricular activities) involving creativity, action, and service to help young people develop into balanced, versatile individuals with a sense of collective and personal responsibility.
