Dermstore was founded in 1999 by a dermatologist who wanted to make it easier for his patients to get the treatments they required for their skin. From that day forward, Dermstore has been dedicated to providing the finest quality products and expert advice to help you through your skin care journey.

From supplying expert skin care to consumer cosmetics brands, the company grew in 2012. On March 19, 2012, Dermstore opened its first store in Hermosa Beach, California.

Harry Josh, a hairstylist, debuted a product line in early 2013, with Dermstore as the exclusive vendor. Dermstore also teamed with the American Academy of Dermatology to deliver skin care education in July 2019. The Hut Group announced in December 2020 that it will purchase Dermstore from Target Corporation for $350 million. The acquisition was completed at 6:00 a.m. UTC on February 2nd, and THG became the official owner of Dermstore.
