Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language biographical sports film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by Mehra, P. S. Jha, and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The film is based on the life of Milkha Singh, an Indian track and field athlete who is considered as one of the greatest sprinters of all time.
The film begins with Milkha Singh's childhood in the Punjab province of British India. He witnesses the horrors of the Partition of India and the loss of his family. He flees to India and lives in a refugee camp, where he begins to run to escape the memories of his past.
Milkha's talent for running is discovered by a coach, who trains him to compete in the Olympics. Milkha trains hard and eventually becomes a national champion. He qualifies for the 1960 Rome Olympics, where he is a favorite to win the gold medal.However, Milkha comes in fourth place in the 400-meter race. He is devastated by the loss, but he refuses to give up on his dreams. He continues to compete and eventually wins a gold medal in the 1962 Asian Games.
