Big Whiteshell Lake
Southeast Manitoba, Canada's Whiteshell Provincial Park has Big Whiteshell Lake. The lake sits near the end of Provincial Road 309, which is located around 162 kilometers east of Winnipeg. When employees from the Manitoba Home for Boys in Portage La Prairie attempted to build a road through the Whiteshell Forest Reserve from Rennie to Green Lake in the 1930s, that is when the path from Rennie to Big Whiteshell Lake was first built.
Brereton Lake has a big brother named Big Whiteshell Lake. This sizable body of water, which can be found in the northern part of Whiteshell Provincial Park, is a wonderful illustration of a gorgeous boreal forest lake.
The lake is a well-liked summertime tourist attraction for hiking, fishing, and other outdoor pursuits. Big Whiteshell is highly known for its fishing, and due to its spaciousness, power boating is a common activity there. Tenting or RV parking are two possible forms of lodging at the primary campground. The main campground has a fantastic beach, and the water is nice and reasonably shallow.
