One of the most beautiful lakes in Manitoba is Lake Winnipeg. When Manitobans want to get away from the city in the summer, they go to Lake Winnipeg. Lake Winnipeg, the remains of a huge glacial lake, varies depending on where you are.

Depending on which coast you are on and how far south or north you travel, the lake's 416 km length presents a variety of faces. While the east side is shorter and has fewer access points, the west shoreline is longer, more accessible, and has more settlements.

Victoria Beach, a summer vacation destination, and Grand Beach Provincial Park are both located on the east side of the lake. You may find both gorgeous beaches and rocky shorelines in this area. When employees from the Manitoba Home for Boys in Portage La Prairie attempted to build a road through the Whiteshell Forest Reserve from Rennie to Green Lake in the 1930s, that is when the path from Rennie to Big Whiteshell Lake was first built.

Brereton Lake has a big brother named Big Whiteshell Lake. This sizable body of water, which can be found in the northern part of Whiteshell Provincial Park, is a wonderful illustration of a gorgeous boreal forest lake.

On the border between Canada and the United States, it is situated in the Turtle Mountains. Only the northernmost tip of the lake lies in Canada; the rest is mostly inside the borders of the United States. A sizable portion of the lake's shoreline is included in the Lake Metigoshe State Park. It offers picnicking, modern and rustic camping places, swimming, canoeing, sailing, water skiing, and other water sports. The sole international waterskiing club in the United States is the Skinautiques waterskiing club.

Lake Metigoshe, which partially straddles the international boundary with the United States and is situated in the province's far south, is frequently disregarded. This lake is excellent for boating for fun.
