Bistro Romano
Innovative Italian cuisine, candlelit dining, stone walls, and old world elegance are all aspects of Bistro Romano, an Italian restaurant located in an 18th century granary in historic Society Hill.
For 33 years, this favorite neighborhood hangout has provided high-quality food and great service. The menu incorporates local sourcing, the freshest ingredients, and Chef's careful focus on keeping clients' favorites while providing an upmarket dining experience that is sure to please. Our award-winning Caesar salad, prepared tableside, is a must for both taste and experience; all pastas are house-made, including our signature dish, lobster ravioli; fresh seafood, veal, chicken, lamb, pork, and filet mignon round out the menu; and desserts are made in-house and incredible – don't forget to save room.
Every Friday night, Bistro Romano hosts a theatrical production dubbed the Original Mystery Theatre. Vegetarian foods, such as spinach pie, are also available at the restaurant. Guests are permitted to bring their own beverages, and they are encouraged to do so. Ali Baba serves fresh pasta and falafel sandwiches in addition to classic Italian fare. You can have an appetizer at the bar and a cocktail at the bar for a memorable meal.
The Chef's Tasting is a new feature that allows diners to choose 5 courses or allow the chef to create the menu, which can be paired with wines for each course. On Friday and Saturday nights, the Bistro Bar offers wines by the glass, wine flights, creative cocktails, beer, and live piano.
The Wine Cellar, a private dining cellar for parties of two or four, is a popular date night place with tabletop rose petals, candles, and limoncello, and has been the site of several proposals. Reservations must be made in advance. There is a discount available. Bistro Romano has received numerous awards, including Best of Philadelphia, Open Table's Most Romantic Restaurant, and Conde Nast Traveler's Top 100 Tables. The Wine List has also received the Wine Spectator Best of Excellence 2 Glasses Award.
