BoJack Horseman
The title character, BoJack Horseman, is an anthropomorphic horse with a famous history. He encounters a variety of different disturbing personalities while figuring out how to deal with his waning celebrity (anthropomorphic animals and humans alike). BoJack is best described as a self-hater with sardonic humor and self-destructive conduct, as well as being depressed and addicted.
Raphael Bob-program Waksberg's is a great illustration of how animation can help people cope with depression and other difficult themes. It's easier to deal with your own existential issues when they're processed via visuals of a world that doesn't seem like ours. The space created by the difference between the two realities makes self-reflection more tolerable. The show's tragic nature doesn't drag us down as a live-action drama might; BoJack's non-human shape separates him from reality enough for "BoJack Horseman" to be a fun and binge-worthy watch.
