Bongoyo Island Beach

With excellent snorkeling and sunbathing, it's no surprise that Bongoyo Island is a favorite day-trip destination for both locals and tourists. This gorgeous island, located just a short boat ride from Dar Es Salaam, is part of the Dar Es Salaam Marine Reserve; as such, everything appears untouched and undisturbed.

It is not feasible to spend the night on the island because it is deserted. Because there are just some small beach bars that provide refreshments, some people bring their food and drinks. Bring a picnic or dine at the seaside restaurant on freshly caught seafood and local favorites like Changu and calamari.

The island, which is covered in trees, is fairly rough in some areas, but there is nothing to complain about when it comes to its two beaches, which both look wonderful. Bongoyo Island is the ideal destination in Tanzania to rest, relax, and revitalize.
