Brevard County Legal Aid
Brevard County Legal Aid is a website offering free legal advice online in Florida. Situated in Rockledge, Florida, BCLA was founded in 1970 by the Brevard County Bar Association. Over the years, it has expanded to involve a network of more than 400 attorneys who volunteer their time to assist low-income individuals in gaining meaningful access to the civil court system.
Attorneys at BCLA cover various legal issues, including family law, foreclosures, domestic violence, guardianship, consumer cases, bankruptcy, and landlord/tenant cases. Their dedication is centered on enhancing the quality of legal aid to safeguard personal safety, establish family stability, and ensure equal access to justice for low-income and disadvantaged individuals in Brevard County.
To qualify financially, most applicants must have a gross income not exceeding 125% of the poverty level set by the Department of Health & Human Services. While there is no fee for legal services, individuals may be requested to contribute to litigation costs (such as deposition fees, witness fees, etc.) in highly contested legal matters.
