British Primary School of Wilanow
British Primary School of Wilanow (BSW) is a British-style international primary school in Warsaw, welcoming children aged 3-13. It started in 2014 and currently serves students from Nursery to Year 9. BSW aims to provide top-notch, values-based education to Warsaw's international community, drawing from the best of British Education.
Regulated by both British international and Polish authorities, BSW is the first school in Poland to be awarded compliant member status by the Council of British International Schools (COBIS). COBIS evaluates the school against rigorous UK and international standards. BSW is also registered as a preschool and primary school in Poland with the Polish Local Education Authorities (Kuratorium). For Polish citizens, BSW issues Polish Diplomas from Year 2 onwards, allowing them to offer the English National Curriculum with some minor additional requirements.
At BSW, the focus is on each student, with a commitment to pastoral care. The school aims to create an environment where students are politely curious, confident, and proud of their school. British Primary School of Wilanow integrates a comprehensive Forest School program into the curriculum, supporting holistic development. Forest School provides a less formal, child-initiated learning environment.
The main goal is to instill in students an interest in and enthusiasm for physical activity, nurturing independence, self-confidence, leadership, and teamwork. All students have two weekly PE lessons tailored to their age group and specialist lessons such as Gymnastics and Ballet. In Years 3-9, this is complemented by a Games afternoon on Wednesdays, where students can choose between Football, Tennis, Swimming, Ballet, Cross-country, Rounders, and Field Hockey.
