BTS's "BE"
Be is the fifth Korean-language studio album by South Korean boy band BTS. It was released on November 20, 2020, through Big Hit and Columbia. Produced in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Be is inspired by BTS's perspective on life during the pandemic. The members contributed to various aspects of the album including songwriting, development, production, and visual design. Described by BTS as a "letter of hope", Be touches on themes of comfort, loneliness, anxiety, depression, frustration, restlessness, sadness, hope, connection, and joy.
Be is BTS' fifth album to debut at number one on the US Billboard 200, making it the fastest group to have five number-one albums since The Beatles. The album also topped the charts in Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, and Brazil. Lan, Korea, and the Flemish region of Belgium, while occupying the top five in 14 countries, including Australia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Scotland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
