  1. Map of the Soul: 7 is the fourth Korean-language studio album by South Korean boy band BTS. The album was released on February 21, 2020, by Big Hit Entertainment. It has been described as a pop, R&B, and hip hop album with influences from contemporary genres such as rock, rap, and EDM. Lyrically, it deals with themes of reflection, introspection, and self-acceptance in less than a year.

It is the sequel to the 2018 album, Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Answer, and ahead of the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour.


    The album also topped the charts of the UK, Scotland, New Zealand, and Australia, making BTS the first Korean act to achieve a number one album in each of these countries. In addition, the album sold 3.2 million copies in a month, becoming the best-selling album in Korea, replacing the previous record 24 years ago.

This album features all 21 members from NCT's three current subgroups; NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV.


    The group promoted the album through music show performances and their reality television series. NCT 2020 Resonance Pt.1 was a commercial triumph for the group; just hours before its release, it was announced that it had received over 1.12 million pre-orders, making it NCT's first album to sell more than one million copies without being re-released.
