Canadia Bank
One of the biggest regional banks in Cambodia is Canadia Bank. Canadia Bank is one of the top commercial banks in Cambodia, with 64 locations spread over 25 provinces and municipalities. Canadia Bank had $7.6 billion in total assets as of 2021 and a 125 million-dollar net profit.
As part of a joint venture with Canadian Cambodian shareholders and the National Bank of Cambodia, Canadia Bank was founded on November 11, 1991, originally as the Canadia Gold & Trust Corporation Limited. It operates as a sole financial institution and is run by former National Bank of Cambodia employees.
Oknha Dr. Pung Kheav Se, a well-known Teochew Chinese businessman from Cambodia who is currently the bank's chairman, was one of the founders. The primary activity focused on buying and selling gold, making gold plaques, and lending money to nearby businesses.
