Captiva Island
On Captiva Island, start celebrating the holidays early. Captiva, one of Florida's best small towns, is delightful when the weather is at its best. You'll never want to leave if you adorn it with lights and holiday happiness.
The weekend following Thanksgiving, the popular Captiva Holiday Village kicks off with a tree-lighting ceremony and fireworks at Tween Waters Inn. With a schedule jam-packed with holiday cheer, it runs through December. The Sunset Arias are held at Tween Inn as well. It's the time you can sink your toes into soft sand while being soothed by crashing waves and bathed in the beautiful pink, yellow, and orange hues of nature. In true Florida style, Captiva hosts a Santa Claus Parade. On the second Saturday in December, a delightful event with the amusing name "Golf Cart Parade" kicks off at the South Seas Resort. Explore the South Seas Island Resort Holiday Stroll's lighted streets while you're here. A spectacular sight along Roosevelt's Channel is provided by the Christmas Boat Parade, which you should not miss.
