St. Augustine
In St. Augustine, from the middle of November to the beginning of January, the streets (and many of the homes) are covered in a wonderland of sparkling lights. Over three million lights are strung across historic structures, surrounding palm trees, and along charming brick-lined streets during this annual Night of Lights Festival.
For a magical journey throughout the city, book an Old Town Trolley Tour to see them up close. Alternately, take a nighttime boat trip like Florida Water Tours' Nights of Lights Tour and hit the waves. The bay gives everything a more radiant look. Better, go on the second Saturday in December to see the Regatta of Lights, a charming event that has brightly lit boats of all sizes cruising along Matanzas Bay. One of the biggest Christmas parades in northeast Florida is held at St. Augustine, the town that celebrates the most in Florida. It starts at the La Leche Shrine and ends at the visitor center. Following that, visitors are welcome to meet Santa at the Plaza de la Constitución.
