Carmel-By-The-Sea
This tiny village in Monterey County is one of the most distinctive and endearing places in all of California. It is definitely worth the trip off the Pacific Coast Highway due to its charming seaside setting, forested alleys, fairytale-like architecture, and abundance of small stores and eateries.
While you're here, make sure to check out more than just the town's namesake Carmel Beach, which is situated at the end of Ocean Avenue, the main thoroughfare. The less crowded Carmel River State Beach has access to the even more seclusion Monastery Beach via the Carmel Meadows Trail. Consider treating yourself to one of the town's opulent lodgings, such as the well regarded L'Auberge Carmel or La Playa Carmel.
One of the best things to do in Carmel-By-The-Sea is to visit Carmel Beach. This beach, which can be found on the Central Coast of California, offers a ton of fantastic chances for water sports, trail walks, and is even pet-friendly.
Check out the magnificent Monterey cypress trees as you stroll down the beachfront. Make sure not to miss out on the opportunity to explore the nature near the shore in general. Although this beach is beautiful at any time of day, they strongly suggest going in the late afternoon or early evening to witness the magnificent sunset. Just take a towel, find a spot on the beach, and enjoy the sunset! It's the ideal activity to do in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
