The Carrot Express is a 1,500-square-foot eatery in the heart of South Beach that is cozy, homey, and completely unique. It provides counter-service dining as well as an incredible selection of vegan and vegetarian salads and sandwiches. The Carrot Express has been in business for over 20 years and serves a simple yet diverse menu of brilliantly assembled sandwiches, fresh salads, delectable wraps, and pure juices.

Their story began more than 30 years ago, when their founder, Mario Laufer, decided to open a restaurant. It was not an easy start, and after many failed businesses in various industries, Mario decided to pursue his true passion: cooking simple and healthy dishes with a lot of flavor. Carrot Express was born on the inside of a gas station on Alton Road in South Beach after a few false starts. Suddenly, a buzz began to circulate among South Beach residents... have you tried the food at the gas station on Alton Rd.? It is amazing! Since then they began a never-ending journey to provide their community with delicious and healthy food. They pride ourselves on offering a creative and extensive menu based around natural, high quality ingredients combined with a fun, comfortable and relaxed environment.
