Cascade
The Yerevan Cascade is a massive stairway in the city center and it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Yerevan. The gigantic construction links the city center to the upper parts of Yerevan, including Victory Park, Arabkir, and Kanaker-Zeytun.
The Cascade has 572 steps and a total elevation change of 118 meters from the foot of the staircase to the top - to the Memorial of the 50th Anniversary of Soviet Armenia. This is one of the most stunning structures in Yerevan and an excellent example of Soviet architecture!
The Cafesjian Center for the Arts is without a doubt the Cascade's major attraction. There are about 5000 paintings, mostly from Gerard Cafesjian's collection, making it the greatest modern art museum in Yerevan. Only a portion of the collection is housed in the paid museum; many pieces may be seen throughout the Cascade, including on the escalator, the stairs, and the park at the complex's base.
The view of the city from the top parts of the complex is perhaps the best in Yerevan. Visitors can climb the stairs to see sweeping panoramas, rest in one of the lovely gardens, browse the halls of the great art museum, or meander among the outdoor sculptures that adorn this attraction
