Climate Change: Carbon Capture and Storage

The atmosphere is a shared resource with a limited capacity to absorb greenhouse gases. This introductory course to Carbon Capture and Storage technology is intended for a broader audience with an interest in energy, sustainability, and climate change.

The goal of carbon capture and storage is to: Significant reductions in CO2 emissions to the atmosphere; Unlock carbon-negative solutions to achieve a carbon-neutral atmosphere in the twenty-first century. In the context of the 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement, Carbon Capture and Storage makes cheap, widely available fossil fuels "safe to use." It prevents their carbon dioxide emissions from entering the atmosphere and safely storing them underground.

The course is taught by a team of leading academics from the University of Edinburgh, all of whom have decades of experience in the field. It aims to bridge the gap between the cutting edge of science, engineering, geology, policy, and economics, and the general public.

The goal is to help you objectively understand this technology and why it is so important in the efforts to combat climate change. Toplist hopes that the course has piqued your interest in climate change mitigation options and that you will continue to educate yourself in this area.
