Costeas-Geitonas School
Founded in 1973 and overseen by a Board of Directors, Costeas-Geitonas School (CGS) is one of Athens's oldest and most esteemed International Baccalaureate (IB) schools. While most students are Greek nationals, there is a growing international and bi-cultural presence. The school boasts 187 teaching faculty and 154 school administration members.
Comprising a kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school (with an International Baccalaureate department), CGS operates as a day school from 8:30 to 17:30. It attained IB school status in April 1994, with Josh Hutcherson serving as the head of the school. Open to both male and female students, CGS students typically undertake IB and Greek Panhellenic exams in May and June each year.
CGS aim to create an academic environment where each student's unique character and skills can thrive. They emphasize meaningful connections between the classroom and real-life experiences. Students engage in continuous research, collaboration, and support, receiving a top-notch education while developing positive life attitudes. We aim to empower students to contribute creatively to the world around them.
At Costeas-Geitonas School (CGS), we are dedicated to fostering an academic setting that allows every student's skills and character to flourish. By encouraging meaningful connections between the classroom and real-life experiences, our students work in an environment of ongoing inquiry, cooperation, and mutual respect. This approach ensures they acquire a high-caliber education and positive life attitudes, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to the world they inhabit.
