Crash Landing on You

Crash Landing on You is about a successful South Korean businesswoman and chaebol heiress who, while paragliding in Seoul, South Korea, is swept up in a sudden storm and crash-lands in the North Korean portion of the DMZ, where she meets an army captain in the Korean People's Army who decides to help her hide. Despite the divide and dispute between their respective countries, they fall in love over time.

The production process was "painstakingly meticulous," owing to both South Korea's relationship with North Korea (where the majority of the plot takes place) and to avoid any unintentional violations. Crash Landing on You outperformed the previous leader, Mr. Sunshine, for most-viewed drama clips by 200 million views as of February 17, 2020, with 1.75 billion online views. The success of the drama aided in the promotion of brand items due to product placement.
