Mr. Queen
Mr. Queen is based on the original Chinese web drama Go Princess Go, which tells the story of a modern-day man named Jang Bong-hwan who becomes trapped in the body of Queen Cheorin during the Joseon era. Despite its controversy, the series is the seventh highest-rated drama in Korean cable television history, with the final episode receiving a 17.371 percent nationwide rating and more than 4 million viewers.
Jang Bong-hwan (Choi Jin-hyuk) is a chef at the Blue House in the modern era. He has a free spirit, but he finds himself in the body of Queen Cheorin (Shin Hye-sun) during the Joseon period one day. The reigning monarch, King Cheoljong (Kim Jung-hyun), is a gentle and easygoing man. However, he is only King in name, as Queen Sunwon (Bae Jong-ok), the late King Sunjo's wife, wields true power, relegating Cheoljong to a figurehead. Queen Cheorin quickly realizes that the King is not what he appears to be and that he has a dark and suspicious side to him.
