My Love from the Star

My Love from the Star is a South Korean fantasy romantic comedy television series directed by Jang Tae-yoo and written by Park Ji-eun. It tells the story of an extraterrestrial alien who lands on Earth in 1609 during the Joseon Dynasty and falls in love with a top female actor 400 years later.

Do Min-joon (Kim Soo-hyun) is an alien who arrived on Earth during the Joseon Dynasty in 1609. He saves a girl named Seo Yi-hwa from a cliff and thus misses his return trip to his home planet, leaving him stranded on Earth for the next four centuries. With only three months until Min-joon's long-awaited return to his home planet, Song-yi unexpectedly becomes his next-door neighbor in the condominium where he lives. He discovers that she resembles Yi-hwa at a young age, with whom he fell in love 400 years before. Min-joon and Song-yi eventually fall in love; Min-joon wishes to leave Earth without becoming emotionally attached, so he tries unsuccessfully to avoid her. While Song-yi initially does not understand his impending departure, she ultimately accepts letting him go to assure his survival.
