Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has ascended to the peak of Instagram's yearly rich list of individuals who can fetch the highest fees for sponsored posts, commanding up to $1.6 million to promote a brand on social media. The Portuguese captain, who ruffled the feathers of Euro 2020 sponsorship Coca-Cola by concealing its bottles at a post-match news conference, has been voted king of the influencers, beating out Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson and singer Ariana Grande.
This is the very first time a footballer has topped the yearly polls, which are usually populated by US reality television, film, and music superstars. Ronaldo's expected fee for a paid post almost doubled last year, from $899,000 in 2020. Cristiano Ronaldo jumped from third to first position in 2021, dethroning Johnson and Kylie Jenner, a beauty entrepreneur and star.
The 36-year-old is expected to snatch around $40 million per year from his social media, more than the amount he earns as a player for Serie A side Juventus. His pay-per-post price has risen in lockstep with his popularity throughout the epidemic.
