Cuisine

Creole food is popular in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The meals are mostly composed of vegetables, fruits, chicken, and seafood. It all relies on which and how the catch of the day was. The most regularly used fish in traditional meals are bonito, tuna, mahi-mahi, and several cod species. Chilies, Caribbean cabbages, and sweet potatoes are popular vegetables in local recipes. The cakes are replaced with big fruit baskets filled with guavas, coconuts, bananas, and mangoes. The cuisine is of the things about St Vicent & the Grenadines you should know.

If you're staying at a luxury resort, there's probably little incentive to leave the premises. If you want to experience some local culture, several of the more popular islands include beach bars and informal outposts. Visitors recommend making time for a meal or drinks at Flow Wine Bar and Kitchen if you're traveling by cruise liner and only have a short amount of time in Kingstown. Along with the wine list, fresh seafood, and pasta, guests praise the restaurant for its beautiful environment, which includes live music.

Visitors to Bequia will be rewarded with some of the top restaurants in the island chain. Sugar Reef Café, Jack's Beach Bar, and Firefly Bequia Plantation are among the popular seaside eateries. For those fortunate enough to spend time in Mustique, Basil's Bar — a favored celebrity hangout – is a must-visit, if only for the see-and-be-seen atmosphere. Expect plenty of grilled seafood and fresh veggies no matter which island you dine on.
