The Pirates of the Caribbean
The southern Caribbean producing hub was St Vincent in the Grenadines, which is part of the Windward Islands. The 'Port Royal' harbor was created in Wallilabou Bay on St Vincent (the pier and a façade remain), and the little town set (which has since vanished) near Chateaubelair. The outlying Grenadine island of Petite Tabac became the uninhabited isle where Captain Barbossa abandons Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) (Geoffrey Rush). Stay at Young Island, a 35-acre resort ten minutes boat ride from St Vincent, where Depp stayed for part of the filming.
Wallilabou Bay is a wonderful location for scuba diving and snorkeling on warm, clear seas. However, it may not be as well-known if it had not been utilized for the filming of Walt Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean, and the locations are still in place today. That is why many people visit each year to view the filming locations of the legendary pirate Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Deep: the dock, the pub, and the numerous residences in the hamlet. You will be confronted with the classic pirate paradise in front of a dream beach in the deep Caribbean, causing your mind to wander to the scenes that were recorded there.
