Design Principles: an Introduction
Why is a user interface intuitive? How can you know which design is more effective than the other? You will learn the fundamentals of design in this course, as well as how to effectively assess your work with users. To properly organize and present information using your interfaces, you'll study the fundamentals of visual design. You'll discover perception and cognitive principles that guide good interaction design. Additionally, you'll discover online how to conduct and interpret controlled studies.
A lot of the time, the anchoring domain will be web design. There will be a lot of examples from the Web, and you will specifically talk about Web technologies a little bit. When you do so, it will be in support of the course's primary objective of assisting you in developing your human-centered design abilities so that you have the knowledge and tools necessary to make superior user interfaces for any technology.
