Distrikt Hotel ranks 5th on the list of Best Hotels Near Times Square. Opened in 2010, this modern, Scandinavian-esque hotel is a great option for business travellers. There are 155 stylish rooms, where you'll find 43-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, Frette linens and in-room WiFi. You can also get gym passes here to the nearby gym (for a fee), for all you holiday goers who don't like to compromise on gains on holiday. And there's also a free morning newspaper delivery so you can stay up to date with what's happening in the world.

Despite its unappealing location next to Port Authority, this new hotel has a lot to offer. The subtle Manhattan theme (the "k" is a nod to the city's original Dutch settlers) used by Distrikt is conceptual. Each of the 31 guest floors is named after one of ten beloved neighborhoods (Harlem, Soho, Chelsea, and so on), and a backlit photo collage created by local artist Chris Rubino adorns the hallways; smaller framed versions liven up the rooms, which are otherwise coolly neutral, with luxury features like Frette linens and marble in the bathrooms. Request a higher floor for views of the Hudson River or Times Square, and the rates will rise accordingly. The lobby is anchored by a 14-foot "living wall" depicting Central Park, but what really stands out are the three large iMacs equipped with free Wi-Fi for guests.
