Dunkin’ Donuts
The original name of Dunkin' Donuts was "Open Kettle," and the chain was renamed in 1950. Dunkin' Donuts now has over 12,900 locations in more than 42 countries. When people think of Dunkin, they think of Western-style donuts that are wonderfully adorned and delicious, full of color, and strong mugs of coffee. Chef Stan Frankenthaler of Dunkin' Donuts has been nominated for the James Beard Award three times (which is considered a culinary Oscar).
While all stores and schools were shuttered in the aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, only Dunkin' Donuts was allowed to continue functioning in accordance with official regulations by the government, and Dunkin' Donuts even gives complimentary donuts to the police and the entire pizza business.
