Durbuy

The world's smallest town is an amazing Ardennes treasure and one of Belgium's most popular tourist destinations. Durbuy has a distinct position and retains its medieval flavor. Stuck between a steep rock and the Ourthe River. Surrounded by a steep setting, the little metropolis offers some spectacular panoramic vistas. Durbuy is a tiny, cozy town with a historic core. The tiny lanes and alleyways provide a friendly atmosphere and are readily explored on foot. The little village is full of interesting businesses and cafés. Durbuy boasts a number of regional culinary delicacies and his own Microbrasserie "Marckloff" where beer is still made.

A day spent in the Radol'ca region is associated with the magnificent beauty of the subalpine environment. Flowering meadows, extensive woodlands, and numerous rivers and streams provide a diverse range of short and long-distance excursions. You may explore the natural and cultural sites that convey the narrative of people's connections with nature and tradition on foot, by bike, or by tourist bus. You may go horseback riding, fishing, or rafting down the Sava River for a more adrenaline-pumping experience.

Durbuy is also known as the Flower City because to its lovely park with well planted boxwood hedges and spectacular flower beds. The "Parc des Topiaries" contains about 250 figurines built from boxwood clipped plants. Some date back more than a century. Some residents enjoy the practice of flowering up their little town by hanging flowers on the facades of their houses all year. Fairly central in Durbuy is the "Château de Durbuy", or the "castle of Durbuy". The current castle dates from the seventeenth century and was built on the ruins of the former castle. The castle is private property and is not open to the public.
