The mosaic-style picture depicts a couple kissing in a close embrace amid a flower meadow on the edge of a cliff. The couples' clothing is decorated with gold leaf. Donauinsel (Danube Island) in Vienna is a long, narrow island where you may enjoy the finest of the Danube river. The Danube's splendor led Strauss to write one of his renowned waltzes, and the river certainly has a lyrical quality to it as it passes past Vienna. The little, grassy island to the east of the center is an excellent location for exploring the river. It features trails that go down the riverside, as well as beaches where you can ride on two-person paddle boats.
