Ecobee Smart Thermostat

Ecobee's new high-end smart thermostat is the SmartThermostat with Voice Control. The pricing is hefty at $249 (with one temperature sensor), but Ecobee added several smarts to this model that make it worth considering. The Ecobee4 will remain available for $249 as long as supplies last, and while the new model isn't a huge improvement over the previous one.

Ecobee was one of the earliest smart thermostat manufacturers. Ecobee is Nest's main rival in the business, and it is now in its fifth generation with the SmartThermostat with Voice Control. While Nest impressed buyers with its stylish look when it debuted its first smart thermostat in 2011, Ecobee rapidly raced ahead in terms of functionality, delivering a remote temperature sensor before Nest and inventing faster with features such as a built-in Alexa speaker.
