Edouard Malingue Gallery
The Edouard Malingue Gallery is a commercial art gallery with premises in Hong Kong and Shanghai, China. Edouard Malingue and Lorraine Kiang Malingue formed it in 2010 with the intention of establishing a critical discourse between Asian and international contemporary artists. From Hong Kong sound performance artist and composer Samson Young to famous Korean abstract painter Cho Yong-ik, Edouard Malingue Gallery exhibits the work of both rising and recognized creatives.
Since 2010, the gallery has staged more than eighty shows in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and other cities. Some solo shows have included Wong Ping's "Who's the Daddy" in 2017; Chou Yu - "Refresh, cheng's Sacrifice, New Hygiene, Infection, Clean, Robot, Air, Housekeeping, Cigarette, Dyson, Modern People" in 2017; and Samson Young's "The Highway Is Like a Lion's Mouth" in 2018. "Alternative Realities", a 2018 exhibition of work by Yuan Yuan in the Palazzo Terzi in Bergamo, northern Italy; Su-Mei Tse's A Certain Frame Work 3 (Villa Farnesina) for the Hayward Gallery's Waterloo Billboard Commission in 2018;... The gallery has participated in art fairs, including Art Basel Hong Kong, Frieze London, Westbound, and Art Basel Miami Beach. In 2018, the gallery was involved in the organisation of the first edition of Condo Shanghai.
