Para Site
Para Site is one of Hong Kong's oldest autonomous, artist-run institutions for the visual arts, founded in 1996 by local artists Patrick Lee, Leung Chi-wo, Phoebe Man Ching-ying, Sara Wong Chi-hang, Leung Mee-ping, and Tsang Tak-ping. This cutting-edge gallery hosts exhibitions and educational programs that focus on local and worldwide contemporary art, and it frequently collaborate with other art organizations, museums, and schools. These initiatives include Para Site's International Art Residency Program and a ground-breaking educational program for teaching young local artists and curators.
Throughout its history, Para Site's activities have featured a variety of formats, including P/S magazine (1997–2006), Hong Kong's first visual arts magazine and a central platform for the growth of the city's art writing and discursive scene, and the Curatorial Training Programme (2007–2010). Para Site has been operating an International Art Residency Program and hosting an annual international conference since 2012. Starting in 2015, this will be supplemented by a new educational format geared at teaching young curators and other art professionals. The operations of the Site are made possible by the generous assistance of its sponsors, as well as funds from foundations and the HKSAR Government.
