El Tunco

If you have never been to El Tunco, it is a wonderful destination to visit with your family or for a romantic weekend. There are numerous sites to visit in El Tunco, but the natural charms of this coastal town are a good place to start. You may take a short bus excursion from the city to Tamanique Waterfall, where you can swim or simply rest while admiring the Pacific Ocean vista.

The beach is one of El Tunco's primary attractions, and the local surf break offers a variety of various types of surf. The beaches are made up of black and gray volcanic sand, so expect pebbles and boulders when you visit. Even if you are not a surfer, the warm sea and clear waters are ideal for unwinding after a day at the beach.

The Cadejo Brewing Company, located nearby, has a large selection of local beers on tap as well as a full menu of American classics. While sipping your beer on a balcony overlooking the ocean, try grilled jumbo shrimp or lobster soup. Consider staying at the Hotel del Tunco if you are seeking a place to stay. El Tunco also has a number of bars and restaurants to visit.
