Ellyse Perry
Ellis Alexandra Perry (born 3 November 1990) is an Australian athlete in cricket and club football. Debuting on both the national cricket and national football teams at the age of 16, she is the youngest Australian woman to play international cricket and the first woman to compete in the ICC and FIFA World Cups. From 2014 on, Perry gradually became a professional solo athlete and her famous cricket career continued to flourish and she is now considered one of the greatest female players of all time.
A true all-rounder, Perry's bowling and bowling skills are reflected in several statistical achievements. She was the first player to total 1,000 runs and 100 wickets at the T20I. An Australian (213 not eliminated) in a test match, she was the third player to score 150 wickets in women's ODI. Her contributions to a variety of successful teams, both international and national in the major cricket format, have led to six World Cups with Australia, 11 WNCL Championships in New South Wales and two WBBL Championships with the Sydney Sixers. She has also won numerous individual awards, including a Rachel Heyho Flint Award and a Belinda Clarke Award three times each, and was named one of the top five cricketers of Wisden Decade: 2010-19.
Perry is considered to play a leading role in the growing presence of women in Australian sports culture because of her performance on the pitch, her competitiveness off the field, and her 'ideal role model' status. In October 2021, she became the country's top-scoring international women's cricketer with her 252th appearance.
