Except for travellers departing from Brazil, who are permitted to check up to 22 pounds of carry-on luggage, the rules listed below apply to all economy passengers. It is essential that cabin luggage comply to a set of guidelines and limitations to guarantee that all passengers' journeys are secure and comfortable. Emirates only permits economy passengers to bring one item on board, and this bag must comply to the size restrictions, whether it be a carry-on bag for the overhead bin or a personal item to tuck under the seat.


Passengers in Economy Class are allowed to have a 7 kg carry-on and the carry-on dimensions should not exceed 55 by 38 by 20 cm. Passengers in Premium Economy would have a 10kg carry-on and 7kg Carry-on plus a 7kg Briefcase or garment bag on Business & First Class with the briefcase may not exceed 45 by 35 by 20 cm; the handbag may not exceed 55 by 38 by 20 cm; the garment bag can be no more than 20 cm thick when folded.
